Cooperative Mega-Dungeon of all campaigns
Maybe it will be a nice Idea to create a dungeon that will need 3 8-Player-groups starting from Elona, Cantha and Tyria to fight a different way to a very very (and i mean very very ) bad boss. So there will be a 24-Player group on its way.
Probably it´s possible that one group will activate/deactivate things like traps that will appear to the other groups by the way they are playing =)
I love that idea

I actually suggested something like this, although not the Tyria, Cantha, ELona part, as being the replacement way to get favor (basically like going back to the old system, but a new PvE-based way to get it, of course keeping the everyone or no one thing this system has). I even drew a map on a basic idea of it.
Slightly different, as there would be 6 teams, not three, but they would be paired up as 3 teams together. In a way it would be 3 teams v 3 teams v AI.
Although instead of 8 players per team, I would think 6 players per team would be a bit more balanced. So really 18v18vAI. Of course, enemy team players can work together or fight each other. And you must defeat each boss and their mobs in order to continue (each group fights 3 bosses in total).
I also think the end-boss should be Dhuum or Menzies. Finish one of them off to close a few loose ends.

So now instead of two leavers after the first hour, we can have 12!
Awesome!

Quoted for truth.
As long as folks could use H/H it might, just might work, but I should imagine that >50% of the time quitters would ruin it.

I love the idea of it and hope to see something like it in GWII. I have a few small problems with implementing it in the current state of GW (don't get me wrong, I would love this, but unless these problems can be taken care of, I don't see it working).
The first problem would be over reliance on the other teams. Unless you coordinate with all the other teams, I would fear that one of the teams would be way too slow, fail and leave, or just go afk after entering to grief people.
The second problem I see is just the sheer number of people needed. If this gets implemented I expect, initially, this will not be a problem, but that once it becomes a month or two old, there just will not be enough people interested to ever do a run.
Entering from the three campaigns is an awesome idea, especially if players only need to own the campaign they enter from. Fighting big bosses is always fun, but I think I like the idea of a team of bosses more than the idea of a Mallyx where they create all kinds of rules so the boss is hard.
I vote they just take [rawr] blockway with the bosses all being high level and having the pve versions of those skills.

Felt this was appropriate.

In any case -- Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny -- I believe this is basically what you're suggesting.

Um.... suggestion for GW2 should be made in the stickied topic. If this is a suggestion for GW1, you do know they aren't adding more content to GW1, and only making skill balance updates and bug fixes.....
Interesting idea, and one I would enjoy I'm sure if done well, but a bit late to be suggesting it.

I think they changed their mind about the new content. I think I recall info that they will be adding some small amounts new stuff like did with MOX and his quests.
At OP. I think it will work nice if there would be some nice rewards at the end. If not after 3-4 weeks of the initial boom this place would be deserted as now is Urgoz or Deep.

decent idea seeing as how the concept is cool....but to be actually put into practice....rage quitting and leavers would be at an all time high and it is bad enough screwing your party of 8 over....screwing 24 over is baed......i do like the idea however, it's reminiscent of vizunah square foriegn/local mission.

Forcing people to pug for a hard boss (even if you run a full guild team, u have no control over the other 2 teams), + the fact that if one side is crap you have to wait for them at the boss. + The fact that if one side fails you all fail. Its like vizunah square, except with hard mobs. Cant see that being very useful.

It sounds great in practice, but yeah, in theory what with all the leavers unfortunately I can't see it happening.

maybe it is possible to set "time barrieres" which has to be reached to a specific time. So that would be a little bit more organized.
A group that miss that aspiration may be supportet by another.
The previous posts of daze and Azazel The Assassin will show very nice ideas for that and show that there are a a lot of capabilities.
Another way could be t compense eventually leavers by entering another level of the dungeon beeing filled up with a hench when a group of them stands at the startpoint of the new level to choose one of them.

I really like this idea. One thought I had was you could fight every boss from the particular campain you start in on the way to the "Mega Boss", and the "Mega Boss" could be all three finall boss's from the 3 campains, and EOTN, all at the same time, plus the final bosses from dungeons.

We know the maximum amount of players in the same battle zone is 24.
We also know that 16 can be on the same side.
It would be nice to be able to form parties of 4..8, hit talk with the "Join In NPC" nd enter battle...
At least fot 16 players should be possible.
The more, the merrier.
It could be a challenge mission in Prophecies, since the area lacks those (unless you consider the Tombs a challenge mission).
